1. Acceptance of Terms
By accessing or using the InnerHug website and related services, you agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree with any part of these terms, you must not use our service.
2. Description of Service
InnerHug is an AI-powered conversational platform designed to provide an empathetic and non-judgmental space for users to express themselves. The platform offers interaction with various AI companions — Buddy, Sage, and Mother — as well as an Anonymous Community posting feature.

InnerHug is NOT a medical or mental health service. Our AI companions are not certified therapists or medical professionals. If you are experiencing a crisis, severe mental health issues, or a medical emergency, please contact emergency services or a qualified professional immediately.
AI companions may occasionally provide inaccurate, incomplete, or outdated information. You are solely responsible for any decisions or actions taken based on AI responses. InnerHug shall not be held liable for any harm, loss, or damage arising from your reliance on AI-generated content.
3. User Conduct
You agree to use InnerHug responsibly and lawfully. You may not:
- Use the service for any illegal, harmful, abusive, or harassing purposes.
- Post content that is defamatory, obscene, or violates any applicable law.
- Post personally identifiable information about yourself or others in the Anonymous Community feature.
- Attempt to reverse-engineer, exploit, or circumvent any security or encryption mechanism.
- Impersonate any person or entity or misrepresent your affiliation with any person or entity.
You are solely responsible for all content and interactions that occur under your account. We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms, with or without prior notice.
4. Anonymous Community Posts
InnerHug provides an Anonymous Posting feature allowing users to share thoughts and experiences without revealing their identity. By using this feature, you agree to the following:
- Posts are displayed publicly to other InnerHug users in the Community feed. By posting, you acknowledge that your content will be visible to other users of the platform.
- All post content is encrypted at rest using AES-256-GCM encryption before being stored in our database.
- Although your identity is hidden from other users, InnerHug retains an internal encrypted association between your account and your posts solely for moderation, crisis-detection, and self-deletion purposes.
- You are solely responsible for the content you post. Do not include any personally identifiable information about yourself or others, illegal content, defamatory material, or content that violates any applicable law.
- You may delete your own posts at any time from within the Community feed.
⚠ Platform Disclaimer — User-Generated Content
InnerHug operates as a platform that facilitates user-generated anonymous content. In accordance with applicable laws including the Information Technology Act, 2000 (India) and its amendments, and consistent with safe-harbour provisions applied by major social media platforms globally, InnerHug is not responsible for the accuracy, legality, or appropriateness of content posted by users.
InnerHug does not endorse, verify, or take editorial responsibility for user-generated anonymous posts. Any content that violates our Community Guidelines may be removed, and the account responsible may be suspended or terminated. We cooperate with law-enforcement authorities when legally compelled to do so.
You, the user, assume full responsibility for everything you post on InnerHug. InnerHug, its directors, employees, and partners shall not be held liable for any harm caused by content posted by other users.

In accordance with the Information Technology (Intermediary Guidelines and Digital Media Ethics Code) Rules, 2021, users may report objectionable content or raise grievances by contacting our designated Grievance Officer:

All grievances will be acknowledged within 24 hours and resolved within 15 days as required under applicable law.
5. AI Moderation & Crisis Detection
All Anonymous Community Posts are scanned by our AI moderation system (powered by Google Gemini) at the time of submission to detect crisis content, self-harm indicators, or extremely distressing content. If such content is detected, an automated AI support response is posted. No human reviewer reads your post as part of this process.
This automated process does not store or expose your identity and is handled server-side at the time of posting. InnerHug reserves the right to remove any post and suspend any account that violates our Community Guidelines, these Terms, or applicable law.
⚠ No Guarantee of Detection
Our AI moderation system is designed to assist in identifying distressing content, but does not guarantee detection of every crisis situation. AI systems are inherently limited and may fail to detect, misinterpret, or incorrectly classify content in certain cases.
InnerHug is not a crisis intervention service. If you or someone you know is in immediate danger, please contact emergency services or a qualified mental health professional immediately. InnerHug, its directors, employees, and partners shall not be held liable for any harm, injury, or loss arising from the failure of automated systems to detect crisis content.

6. Subscriptions and Payments
Access to premium features of InnerHug may require a subscription. Subscriptions are billed on a recurring basis as detailed at the time of purchase. Payments are processed securely via Razorpay. You agree to provide accurate billing and contact information. Please refer to our Refund & Cancellation Policy for details on cancellations and refunds.
7. Third-Party Services
InnerHug integrates with third-party services including Razorpay (payments), Google (OAuth / AI), and Cloudinary (media storage). These providers have access to your information only to perform tasks on our behalf and are obligated not to disclose or misuse it. Third-party services never have access to your encrypted chat content or your identity behind anonymous posts.
8. Intellectual Property
All content, features, and functionality of InnerHug — including text, graphics, logos, and software — are the exclusive property of InnerHug and its licensors and are protected by international copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws. You may not reproduce, distribute, or create derivative works without our express written permission.
9. Limitation of Liability
In no event shall InnerHug, its directors, employees, partners, agents, or suppliers be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages — including without limitation loss of profits, data, use, goodwill, or other intangible losses — resulting from your access to, use of, or inability to access or use the service, or from content posted by other users on the platform.
10. Service Providers
To deliver your AI companion experience, we work with trusted service providers, including Google Gemini API. These providers process your data solely to power our services and are contractually bound not to use it for any other purpose.
We do not sell your conversation data to any third party. Our service providers act only on our behalf and under strict confidentiality obligations. For more information on how Google processes data, please refer to Google's Privacy Policy.
11. Data Deletion Policy
You have the right to request permanent deletion of your InnerHug account and all associated data at any time. To initiate an account deletion request, please contact us at support@innerhug.in.
Upon receiving a verified deletion request, the following data will be permanently deleted from our servers within 14 days:
- All chat messages and conversation history (stored in AES-256-GCM encrypted form)
- All anonymous community posts and associated encrypted account links
- Session metadata and feature usage data
- Your account profile and authentication information
⚠ Please Note
Certain data may be retained beyond 14 days only where required by applicable law — for example, payment transaction records retained by Razorpay as required under Indian financial regulations. This retained data is strictly limited to legal obligations and is not used for any other purpose.
Once deletion is complete, your data cannot be recovered. This action is permanent and irreversible.
12. Eligibility & Age Requirement
InnerHug is intended for users who are 18 years of age or older. By creating an account, you confirm that you are at least 18 years old.
During registration, you are required to provide your age accurately. Users who provide false or misleading age information to gain access to InnerHug do so entirely at their own risk. InnerHug bears no legal responsibility for access obtained through false or fraudulent age information.
⚠ Minor Access Prohibited
In accordance with India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 (DPDP Act), InnerHug does not knowingly collect or process personal data of individuals under the age of 18. If we become aware that a user is under 18, their account will be immediately terminated and all associated data permanently deleted within 14 days.
If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has accessed InnerHug, please contact us immediately at support@innerhug.in and we will take prompt action.
13. Blog & Educational Content
InnerHug publishes blog articles and educational content related to emotional support, emotional health, and self-care. All content is written by our team for informational and educational purposes only.

Blog content published on InnerHug does not constitute medical, psychological, or therapeutic advice. Articles are not written by licensed mental health professionals unless explicitly stated. Do not make any health-related decisions solely based on content published on our blog.

14. Governing Law
These Terms and Conditions are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of India. Any disputes arising under these terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts located in New Delhi, India.
15. Refund, Cancellation & Cookie Policy
By using InnerHug, you also agree to our Refund & Cancellation Policy and our Cookie Policy. These policies are maintained separately but are equally binding and form an integral part of these Terms and Conditions.
16. Changes to Terms
We may revise these Terms and Conditions from time to time. The most current version will always be available on this page with the updated date noted at the top. By continuing to access or use InnerHug after revisions become effective, you agree to be bound by the revised terms.
Additional Terms
Applicable to users accessing InnerHug from outside India.
These Additional Terms complement and are to be read in conjunction with Sections 1 to 16 of the InnerHug Terms and Conditions. In case of any conflict between the general terms and these international terms, the international terms shall prevail for users accessing the service from outside India.
Currency & International Payments
- —Base Currency: InnerHug primarily operates in Indian Rupees (INR). For users outside India, payments are accepted in US Dollars (USD).
- —Exchange Rates: The applicable exchange rate is determined by your bank or our payment gateway (Razorpay). InnerHug shall not be responsible for any currency conversion fees, bank charges, or fluctuations in exchange rates.
- —Price Variation: Pricing may vary based on your location. InnerHug reserves the right to apply region-based pricing at its sole discretion.
International Use & Compliance
- —India-Based Operations: InnerHug is operated and managed from India. If you access our platform from outside India, you do so at your own initiative and are solely responsible for compliance with your local laws and regulations.
- —Sanctioned Countries: InnerHug is not available in countries or regions where its use is prohibited under Indian law or applicable international sanctions. Users from such jurisdictions are not permitted to access or use our services.
- —No Warranty of Compliance: InnerHug makes no representation that its services are appropriate or legally available in all jurisdictions. Access from territories where our services are illegal is strictly prohibited.
Cross-Border Data Transfer
By using InnerHug, international users acknowledge and agree that their data may be transferred to, stored on, and processed on servers located in India. Data protection laws in India may differ from those in your country of residence, including the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) or the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA). Your continued use of InnerHug constitutes your explicit consent to such cross-border data transfer and processing.
Age Requirements & Minor Safety
InnerHug does not knowingly collect personal data from individuals under the age of 18. For users in the United States, we additionally comply with the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA) and do not intentionally collect data from children under the age of 13. Parents or guardians who believe their child has submitted data to InnerHug may contact us at support@innerhug.in.
Governing Law & Jurisdiction
Regardless of your country of residence or the currency in which you make payment, you agree that any dispute arising out of or relating to these Terms or your use of InnerHug shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts located in New Delhi, India. These Terms are governed exclusively by the laws of India. By using InnerHug, you irrevocably submit to the personal jurisdiction of such courts and waive any objection to the laying of venue in New Delhi, India.
